“ISIM Sharpens Individual Minds”
Iron Sharpens Iron Mentoring, Inc. works with vulnerable and at-risk youth, and more recently, those with disabilities, in juvenile detention centers, and through community partnerships across Clark County, Nevada to foster healthy development and inspire them to grow into productive, conscientious adults who positively impact their communities.
OUR PROGRAMS
ISIM utilizes an evidence-based curriculum from One Circle Foundation (www.onecirclefoundation.org) to help youth develop essential skills such as leadership, cooperation, teamwork, communication, and decision-making. ISIM aims to instill crucial values, including integrity, accountability, caring, and confidence, in the youth through this program.
Parent Engagement
Voluntary parent sessions provide a confidential and safe space to share and uplift one another. Parents attend a one-hour "activity lounge" once a month to discuss their youth's progress and challenges and share effective strategies.
Youth Group Mentoring
12 week program for youths ages 9-18. Our programs confidently employ evidence-based principles of a strengths-based approach, motivational interviewing strategies, and a strong focus on positive youth development.
Youth Leadership
Designed for recent program graduates enthusiastic about mentoring and supporting others. Upon graduation, youths have the opportunity to showcase their leadership skills and extend their mentorship to support others.
